Release Radio Underground Dance Music From The UK
DJ Gold bought his first set of turntables in 1991. Back then he played old school hardcore regularly going to large events like Fantasia and Slammin Vinyl. He made the move to house music in the mid 90s around the same time as he opened his own record shop “Wiseguys”. Over the next few years he moved towards Hard House holding residencies for United Dance, Slammin Vinyl, Seduction, Wallop and Float and regular appearances throughout the South East which saw him play alongside the likes of Judge Jules, Graham Gold, Pete Ward man, Tall Paul, Brandon Block and Alex P. Gold was a regular on Point blank in the 1990s with his Saturday night 8pm – 10pm show which he did along side fellow DJs HBomb and Ben Paul. After being out of the scene for almost a decade he has returned to his love of music reuniting with Gary Mac and the Release Radio team.
Wannos also got into the rave scene in the early 90s regularly raving each weekend. This led to him buying decks and starting to form his extensive record collection. Focusing on being a bedroom DJ, Wannos started out playing old school rave reflecting what he heard when clubbing and as a result his change upto soulful House followed by trance and hard house was again influced by his clubland visits. Wannos is a fan of the long mix and has perfected this style of mixing being strictly a vinyl DJ until 2020. When Release Radio came calling Wannos jumped at the chance to hit the Airwaves aside Gold and the pair of them work the Airwaves as a twisted twosome.
