Release Radio Underground Dance Music From The UK
Kier’s love and enjoyment of music started from a very young age. By the time he was 10 he was introduced to hip-hop, liking artists such as Gangstar, Young Mc, Big Daddy Kane, Pete Rock & CL Smooth then to electronica where he discovered The Prodigy, Moby, Acen & 2 Bad Mice etc. When he turned 17 he became a roadie for a someone that used to entertain pubs around the counties. Kier had to set up the equipment, speakers and learnt how to poorly mix using a basic CD system. Then when he turned 20, Kier moved to Tenerife in 2000 where he became resident dj for a bar called Passion. In 2001 he left Tenerife and continued travelling the globe.
In 2004 Kier moved to New Zealand finally setting up a new life in Queenstown and in 2012 Kier won $1000 on a Big Ben’s beef mince pie and bought his first controller, after months of intense practicing he got his first gig at Upstairs @ The Bunker where he started off having to play 6/7hr sets. He soon became a regular there then he had regular slots at The Sundeck Rooftop bar playing along side live musicians then Surreal & Kier also became the 2nd only dj to be asked to play New Years Eve at Bardeaux. 2015 he moved to Wanaka where he played regularly at The Waterbar and had the opportunity to join a local radio station called Beats Wanaka, his show was called Kier Royale. Still travelling back to Queenstown for the occasional set.
2018 he moved back home to Bracknell where he played along side Baz O’Connell at The Admiral, then continued their B2B on another station. Soon he was introduced to Release Radios very own Matt Allgood, where they all played together on the other radio station in Baz’s garage. Matt asked Kier to join him on Release as a guest and has never looked back. Now Kier is fortunate enough to be honoured with becoming part of the Release family.
