Paul Spencer

Paul got into the Dj life at the end of 1989 learning to mix along side an old friend, Wallace – Dj Eclipse from Pulse Fm. Wallace used to work in Pure Groove records Archway and during the 90’s the pair along with another friend had various releases on the shops label “Tripoli Trax”. Released under the artist name Dj Eclipse, Tripoli Trax had heavy links to the then legendary club night “Trade” at Turnmills.

In 2003 Paul started spinning House through the night at weekends on a very Uk Garage influenced Passion Fm.

He would play alongside Just Mick and Champagne Wayne even though House at the time was very unfashionable. Eventually though they all moved to the then brand new House station, Unknown FM. He made his home Saturday mornings 10 till 12 and played at this time for over a year. While at Unknown Paul along with 4 others started the DJ Collective “MoversNShakers” they took on a residency in Londons west end at the “RubyLo” situated next door to Selfridges it ran successfully for over 2 years.

At this point life took its toll on Paul’s relationship with House music. With a family and demanding job to deal with he took a step back.

Until now that is!

Since the lockdown, like many. Paul has re embraced his love for the music and the way of life, finding himself in the clubs 3 out of 4 weekends a month. He has also along with its original members re launched MoversNShakers. Oh and of course joined the Release Radio team here at Release Towers. Paul is very excited to be here and looking forward to shaping his show over the coming weeks.
