For the discerning music lover, look no further than the Sunday Shuffle – the place to be for an eclectic musical mix that knows no boundaries. Be it classic funk and jazz, old school hip-hop, blissful Balearic beats, the latest mashups and re-edits, drum & bass, contemporary deep house and much more. Each and every Sunday the crew play the very finest in music from all four corners of the globe, providing a weekly dose of audio treats for your listening pleasure. Always carefully selected, and mostly played on vinyl, their DJ sets on Release Radio aim to showcase the very best in new and old music, covering as many different styles they can cram into two hours.

Along with quest DJs that join the crew, the Sunday Shuffle is made up of three permanent members:

First up there is none other than Steve Nash, who has a long history as a vinyl junkie. Steve has been a record collector for over 30 years, previously owned a record shop in Slough called Elusive Vinyl and has been DJing in and around Berkshire as one of the most prominent DJs on the scene for many a year. The founder of The Berkshire Blag, he regularly DJs in and around Windsor and has an annual residency in Poland. Specialising in playing 7” records for his night, “Se7ens”, Steve Nash brings a heady mix of funk, soul, Balearic and house to ‘The Loading Bay Sunday Shuffle’, often with world exclusives from his record label, Aquamelon Records.

Next up we have Conradio who started buying records when he was 8 years old, with his first stint behind a record player playing to a crowd when he was still 7. Music is very much a way of life for Conrad Koziol (‘Conradio’).  Following on from his Father and Uncle, Conrad is a huge advocate for all things black music based and has a lot of experience playing in clubs and at private parties alike – from school discos at his primary school up in Scotland to a wedding in Jamaica, from house parties in Miami to a rave in a cave, from musically themed meals in private villas and hotels to backrooms at Koko in Camden, from residencies at nightclubs and pubs alike at his place of study in High Wycombe to countless nights DJing wherever the music needs to be heard, Conrad is never far away from a mix (or a dig in a record shop!). Genres enjoyed include acid, funk, soul, jazz, deep house, hip-hop, drum and bass, Detroit techno, reggae and so on, and the beat goes on…

JDL (Justyn de Looze) started his musical journey with the purchase of Street Sound’s Crucial Electro in the early 1980s and over the years his record collection has grown into many thousands. From the mid 90s he regularly DJ’d at parties and clubs around London, along with an appearance at the Big Chill festival on the Greek island of Naxos, before moving to the West Country in 2004 and taking a break from DJing. The last few years has seen him get back behind the decks (but all the while still buying records). With a wide and varied taste in music, you can expect to hear him play a mixture of jazz, funk, hip-hop, northern soul, drum & bass, Balearic, ambient, Brazilian and Latin, obscure soundtracks, afrobeat and whatever else he can get his hands on. But whatever he plays, you can guarantee it’ll be funky and soulful.

The fourth member of the ‘Sunday Shuffle’ crew, Remi, is no stranger to regular Release Radio listeners, with his Saturday morning show – ‘The Music Cellar’.

Like Conradio, Remi’s passion for music started from an early age. Remi still remembers vividly, being asked on various occasions to change 7” records for his parents whenever family and friends came to visit – which is where his love for music was born! Expect an eclectic soundscape, featuring music from Remi’s personal vinyl and digital collections, focusing on less mainstream artists – the emphasis being on Feel Good Music explorations, rooted in Soul & Jazz in all its forms (but not limited to just these genres)… are you ready for the journey?

Tune in to ‘The Sunday Shuffle Crew’ from 2-4 p.m. every weekend and get your groove on!
